SUMMARY
Responsible for process engineering activities and deliverables including process improvement and development, equipment support and maintenance, documentation, process implementation, problem solving, and training required to produce high-quality medical device components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
Maintain manufacturing equipment and assembly processes to ensure that equipment is available and ready for use by Operations.
Write and update documents required for the operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes (i.e. OPR’s, MPS’s, PMT’s, etc.)
Training – ensure that Operation’s Resources are trained on equipment and processes
Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures and operations related to manufacturing
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
Assist with the early and continued development of new products and processes
Assist with the implementation of new equipment and processes
Use SolidWorks or similar CAD program to design simple to moderately complex fixtures and electro mechanical systems.
Keep active ongoing project/task list that align with business needs and as assigned

Provide leadership through:
Comply with FDA, ISO and internal QSR requirements
Enforce and contribute to a culture of safety and GMP compliance through technical specifications, training and awareness of standards and regulations.
Adhere to all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (BS) from four-year college or university in a related engineering curriculum; and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three year experience in a manufacturing environment, 2 of which in medical device manufacturing. At least 3 years experience working in teams with 1 year in team leadership. Working knowledge and experience with advanced principles of tolerances, pressures, electricity, temperature, strength of materials, machine elements and other physical properties. Working knowledge of Solidworks, with ability to generate solid model and 2-D print of simple geometry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write training programs. Ability to effectively present information to top management, groups of employees, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SolidWorks Design software; Visual manufacturing software; Microsoft Project management software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word processing software.
