Where we need you

SUMMARY Responsible for providing technical support to ensure manufacturing equipment and processes are fully operational and functioning properly. Perform highly diversified duties to setup, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and ancillary equipment to support the achievement of business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Setup and prepare equipment for production personnel by ensuring equipment/process is fully functional and capable of producing products that meet customer specifications and quality requirements in a safe manner.

Troubleshoot and solve problems related to manufacturing equipment and processes. Determine causes of operational problems or failures and documenting these activities according to GMP and other regulatory requirements.

Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity while ensuring that scrap rates are kept to a minimum.

Provide support, guidance, and availability to production personnel to keep equipment and operations running efficiently and safely.

Keep production equipment and areas clean and 5-S’d.

Specify and maintain inventory for job related materials such as spare parts, tools, cleaning supplies, and the like.

Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment.

Support and train other team members to maximize effective equipment and process utilization.

Provide feedback and pro-active communication to supervisor, engineering, and coworkers to ensure efficient operations.

Assist with the development of documentation related to equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Read and interpret equipment manuals, documents, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Assist engineers in developing, building or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.

Establish open communication and productive relationships with individuals in all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.

Enforce and contribute to a culture of safety and GMP compliance through technical specifications, training and awareness of standards and regulations.

Solve maintenance problems and implement solutions as associated with assigned production lines.

Adhere to all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.

Provide other department and manufacturing support as requested by immediate supervisor.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience. Acquired hands on experience working with automated production equipment, vibratory feeders, pneumatics, hydraulics, test equipment, measurement devices (calipers, meters, etc) and robotics. Understanding of basic principles of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure, electricity, temperature and other physical properties. Able to read and understand complex engineering drawings. Prescribed industry accreditations/certificates will be considered in lieu of education and experience. Completion of a state approved apprenticeship and papers preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
