Where we need you

Under the direction of the Extrusion Manager supports department efforts to assure continuous operation of product manufacturing by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in helping the sheet extrusion operators by applying knowledge of extrusion operation and process.
  • Responsible for checking quality of their line at shift change and on an hourly basis.
  • Ensures that packaging is being done per the correct packing specification.
  • Responsible for checking set-up at shift for each changes.
  • Responsible for completing a 1st piece check for each change over.
  • Responsible for verifying all paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Responsible for promoting safety awareness throughout the plant. Make sure all employees have required PPE and are following all safety policies.
  • Responsible for reporting any defective equipment or safety hazards to maintenance, safety manager and department manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining work area housekeeping throughout entire shift.
  • Responsible for maximizing production rates while maintaining a quality product.
  • Responsible for assisting operators when needed. *Responsible for promoting teamwork throughout the plant.
  • Work nights and able to receive phone calls anytime. (Excluding Vacation)

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules. Operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to complete reports and forms associated with the position: Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Manage own time and the time of others.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly expose to fumes and airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The nose level in the work environment is usually loud. The environment is usually hot.
