Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve equipment failures as well as perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems
• Perform mechanical repair & maintenance activities throughout the plant on equipment and facilities
• Motors, hydraulics & pneumatic systems, bearings & gearboxes. Water heating and cooling systems
• Reading blueprints and schematics. Equipment installations & rigging
• Utilize Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement to maximize equipment output and processes
• Execute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs to all production equipment, hydraulic systems and pumps in a timely manner
• Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, PM’s and updating the equipment databases
• Support divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, and waste

Qualifications

• Certified Industrial Millwright 433A (Red Seal ticket)
• 2 -3 years of work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Energetic and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and possesses a strong safety focus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management software
• Available and flexible to work in a fast paced environment, be self-driven to meet or exceed targets and work a flexible schedule that includes planned, unplanned and on-call shifts
• Experience with electronics & PLCs. AC & DC motors and controls an asset.
• Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.
• Physically fit & able to negotiate inclines, stairs and ladders
• Able to perform physically demanding activities while working in all types of extreme hot environments, both indoors and outdoors.
• The job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and standing for long periods of time.
• Must be physically able to push, pull, and lift 40 lbs. Working in conditions may include exposure to noise, dust.
• Willingness to work extended hours when and where required

• Permanent, Full Time Position
• 12-hour continental, day shift only
• Averaging agreements in place
• 84 hours biweekly with opportunity for OT

Rate of Pay

• Depending on knowledge, skills, abilities, experiences both work and educational the rate starts at $40.00/hour.
